Static Bloom
Static Bloom
Unlike standard platformers, every interaction with a life-giving element fundamentally alters the physics of the environment. The player must think like a physicist, anticipating how saving one part of the city might collapse another, creating a deep strategic layer to simple movement puzzles.
Short Description
A dying city exists in a state of suspended animation. By interacting with life-giving flora, you inadvertently rewrite the local laws of physics, causing gravity to shift and reality to fracture around you.
About the Game
In the year 2094, Earth has become a silent monument to its own collapse. You are an automated repair drone operating in Sector 7, a grid-based wasteland where silence is the only sound. The city's structural integrity is failing because the 'Static Field'—which holds reality together—is decaying. As you traverse the grid, you encounter 'Bloom Nodes,' rare flora that are slowly regenerating life but destabilizing the physical laws of their immediate surroundings. Your mission is not to save them all, but to guide a single path of restoration through the crumbling city before the Static Field completely dissolves into chaos.
Goal: Navigate the grid from the entrance to the Central Core while restoring the city's integrity. You must solve gravity-shifting puzzles using Bloom Nodes to create stable platforms and bridges, avoiding structural collapses that would trap or destroy you.
How it plays: Analyze the unstable platform -> Activate a Bloom Node -> Observe gravity shift (platforms float, walls become floors) -> Use the new physics to reach higher ground or bypass obstacles -> Solve the puzzle section -> Advance to the next zone of decay.
Progression: Levels increase in complexity by introducing more unstable zones, requiring multi-stage gravity shifts to solve. Later levels include environmental hazards like 'Void Leaks' that drain the Static Field faster, forcing quicker decision-making. The city visually degrades and then reconstructs as you progress through different districts.
Win condition: Reaching the Central Core and successfully stabilizing the Static Field by activating a sequence of Bloom Nodes without collapsing the entire structure.. Lose condition: Touching a Void Leak, falling into an unstable abyss that cannot be recovered from, or allowing the Gravity Keeper to shatter the grid completely before stabilization is achieved.
Controls
Movement: Arrow Keys / WASD. Interact with Bloom Nodes: 'E' key. Jump: Spacebar. Gravity Shift Trigger: Automatically activates upon touching a Bloom Node; manual reset requires waiting for stabilization or using specific mechanics if implemented.
- Start / restart: Enter, Space, R or a click
Features
- Rules built on push + ice with 15 solver-verified levels for each difficulty
- NORMAL / NIGHTMARE / HELL difficulty changes the number of hints, time limits, move limits and puzzle complexity
- Undo (Z), restart (R) and hints (H)
- Estimated play time: About 17-25 minutes (design estimate)
- Plays instantly in your browser (HTML5, no install)
